Micron's entry into the marine industry is a very exciting one. We have developed a new
patented product that is getting fantastic reviews.
This new product called the RIB-SLEEVE converts
roll-up inflatables such as Zodiacs, Avon, Quicksilver from a soft material bottom to a high
performance hard bottom boat which also offers a considerable increase in handling safety and rock
solid tracking with excellent wave cutting action.
Anybody familiar with boating or owns a roll-up inflatable will be very excited with the
introduction of this new patented product.
The alternative to a roll-up is a fiberglass bottom inflatable called a RIB. These offer rigidity, better control, higher top speed, but all at a price. A 10' RIB starts at about $5,000.00 at the bottom end, compared to a roll-up which sells for about $1,750.00.
Many boaters have roll-ups for specific reasons. They are easily rolled-up and stored, a big advantage for many sailors, small to medium size cruisers, campers, RVs, cottagers, fishermans, hunters and many military applications. The RIB-Sleeve can give you the best of both worlds. The RIB-Sleeve converts your soft bottom to a hard bottom deep vee giving you all the advantages of a RIB at a fraction of the cost. This new accessory weighing approximately 25lbs offers you all the benefits of a RIB, better handling and tracking and no more bouncing from side to side. Instead, you slice through the waves, gets you up on plane in a flash and saving you money on gas consumption. You will also experience a considerable increase in your top speed by eliminating the air balloon drag and we must not forget the protection now offered to your material bottom. This tough quarter inch thick polyethylene hull can take a serious pounding.
This new plastic bottom is manufactured of 1/4" polyethylene which covers the bottom portion of your inflatable with a front hook protruding up and around the front tube to the inside literally hooking on to the front tube and a lip coming up the back of your transom and attaches to the transom top with nylon straps and tension locks. To install, all one has to do is deflate the main tube, slide it over the RIB-Sleeve and re-inflate making sure that the front tube is inside the front hook and fasten the straps at the transom and you have all the features and performance of a RIB.
